Acelleron recently announced the launch of Great Place to Pump, a prestigious designation now available at no cost to the employer. Great Place to Pump is an annual designation recognizing breastfeeding and pumping-friendly workplaces based on the successful establishment of policies, education, support, and accommodations for breastfeeding employees. Employer support and accommodations for breastfeeding moms returning to work is crucial, and Accelleron believes that employers who share these values should be recognized. Cigna’s Annual Well-being Awards honor companies that recognize the importance of making their employees’ health a priority and that a commitment to well-being can contribute to the success of their businesses.  Pegasystems and Vermont Electric Cooperative have won the 2019 Cigna Well-Being Awards! Their leadership believes in creating a workplace culture that encourages healthy lifestyles across all dimensions of well-being, which has lifted employee satisfaction, health, and morale.

   

 

MMS Analytics (d/b/a MyMedicalShopper), a national price transparency solution, submitted a response to a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services request for input on proposed rulemaking that could support national price transparency efforts to lower healthcare costs. Last fall, MyMedicalShopper’s CEO, Mark Galvin, was invited to Washington to consult with senior cabinet-level officials on price transparency and its potential effect on reducing healthcare costs. The company has been a leading advocate for health care price transparency for over six years. 

MMS Analytics (d/b/a MyMedicalShopper) has partnered with Baystate Benefit Services, Advanced Benefit Strategies, and UnityRe LLC, three leading healthcare solutions and employee benefits administration providers in New England, to give their clients more choice and control over their healthcare costs.

NutriSavings launched a new AI-based, dietitian-backed platform called Nuwise in early 2019. Nuwise’s goal is to help every individual to easily reach their health goals through nutrition.

 

Virtudent continues to grow and expand their business and hiring, and they have recently moved offices out of the Newton Innovation Center (NIC) and into their own space in Kenmore Square.  

 

 

Wellness Workdays acquired Maine-based Occupational Medical Consulting, LLC (OMC). OMC designs and delivers leading-edge health and wellness programs nationwide and will operate as OMC Wellness, a subsidiary of Wellness Workdays.

Cigna Day of Service - More than 100 Cigna employees volunteered on April 9 to give back to nine different non-profit organizations across Greater Boston.  They built beds for kids living in poverty, packed food for kids who might otherwise go hungry over the weekends, arranged flower bouquets for individuals in hospice and much more.

 

Health Plans, Inc. (HPI) is off to a strong 2019 of service and giving. In February, the company recognized “National Wear Red Day” to support
women’s heart health and staff was encouraged to donate to the American Heart Association in support of Go Red For Women®. In April, staff raised over $4,300 for the Jimmy Fund Rally event—the company’s largest contribution to date. HPI has supported the Red Sox Jimmy Fund Rally Against Cancer for several years—even dressing in Sox gear each home opener day.

In support of HPI’s values of integrity, dedication and compassion, the HPI Service & Giving Team is currently collecting unused toiletries to assemble toiletry kits for distribution at local shelters. The team also has plans to collaborate with local non-profit organizations, such as Veteran’s Inc. and AIDS Project Worcester, to coordinate future service days in 2019.
