This retirement-focused program is designed to lay foundations for beginners and serve as a refresher for benefits professionals. From tax-favored plans, including 401(k), cash balance and other forms of qualified plans, to arrangements for nonprofits (such as 403(b) and 457(b)), to nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements for your executives and other higher paid employees, this program will cover:

  • Plan design considerations,
  • Controlled group issues,
  • Key nondiscrimination testing concepts,
  • ERISA fiduciary and prohibited transaction issues, and
  • The lurking risks of Internal Revenue Code Section 409A.

This program will present aggregated organizational data and provide trends and developments across the retirement landscape, all shared with the goal for participants with employee savings behaviors and retirement plan design trends. Quantitative metrics, such as contribution rates and asset allocation, will be included as components of the analyses practitioners perform.

Bring your questions and be prepared to leave with concrete action items and ideas to enhance your subject matter expertise and your organization's existing retirement benefit menu.
