Breakfast with Benefits: The Effects of Caregiving on Employees

This program delves into the multifaceted impacts of caregiving on employees, highlighting the challenges faced by those caring for children, elderly parents, individuals with special needs, and other dependents. We will explore the emotional, physical, and financial tolls of caregiving responsibilities and discuss the various types of caregiving scenarios.

Participants will learn about available resources designed to alleviate the stress of caregiving. This includes information on respite care options, community support services, and professional caregiving assistance. We will also provide guidance on where caregivers can turn for help, including local and national organizations.

The program will outline actionable steps employers can take to support their caregiving employees. This includes flexible work arrangements, employee assistance programs, and the implementation of supportive workplace policies. We will also discuss the potential for establishing a Caregiving Employee Resource Group (ERG), which can offer peer support, advocacy, and a platform for sharing resources and best practices.
